This is a great question—one that we carefully considered before opening the preschool and later reviewed with our state licensor as part of our school risk assessment.
To answer your question, yes, we do have wildlife in the area, as is common throughout the Pacific Northwest.
However, when children are present, the only animals we typically see are deer and squirrels.
That said, we are well-prepared for any emergencies:
• There are always at least two adults supervising the group.
• Children never enter the forest without an adult.
• We have a designated shelter in case of the presence of potentially dangerous wildlife.
• Bear spray is kept on-site as a precaution.
I hope this addresses your concerns about wildlife and the safety measures we have in place.
